Membership
Membership in Local 229 is not required to be referred for work. In fact working calls thru the Local first, may be necessary as a way for us to become acquainted with you. You must be a resident within the jurisdiction of this Local for at least 18 months to become a member.
Inquiries for membership should be sent directly to the Secretary via email or to our PO Box. The Secretary will respond with specific details involved in the application process.
Some of the benefits of becoming a member include:
- Attend and participate in monthly Membership Meetings
- Nominate and vote on candidates running for Union Office
- Vote on candidates applying for Membership
- Participate on various Union Committees
