Who We Are
IATSE Local 229 is the local chapter of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada. IATSE was founded in 1893 to support efforts to establish fair wages and working conditions for their members. Local 229 was established in 1923 and has expanded its presence significantly in recent years. We are an affiliate of AFL-CIO and provide representation on the Northern Colorado Labor Council.
We have provided labor for many projects over the years, including:
- TV Miniseries “Centennial” 1978 and “The Shining” 1977
- Political rallies for George W. Bush, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump
- Concerts with The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Motley Crue, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, and many more
- Other live entertainment such as Disney On Ice, Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey and Cirque du Soleil
